Today, we chucked some more ideas around. We wanted to talk about our brand concept in more depth and think about any negative aspects or problem areas that might be questioned when we get round to presenting. We weren't sure if our Unisex Childrens wear brand, with a partly sustainable aspect was really 'niche' enough.
We went over some of the things we had previously talked about and we were really interested in addressing the issue of children growing up way past their time, being brought up in a world where technology has taken over. Us 90 kid's would kick a ball about, play a board game, and take care of our care bears. We, along with the majority of society are genuinely saddened and worried about what young kids might be like in 50 years time- It's not even worth thinking about!
We want to bring the FUN back into children's lives, starting with their clothes. We envisaged interesting textures and vibrant colours. We discussed having a store that was an experience, as much as being a visit. We want the parents and kids that come to our store to really enjoy the atmosphere.
After talking about the new direction for our brand, we were all really enthusiastic and excited about our idea. We finally feel that we have an idea we can all be passionate about and really get stuck in. We made a group Pinterest board today so we can collectively group a bunch of images that can give us inspiration for texture and colour pallets.
Today, we spent the majority of our time filling out a table that helps us to come up with ideas for all aspects of our brand. We wrote about cost margins, our audience, our sustainable input, the things that we need to make our company work, how we make a profit, whether we want to get involved with charities. This really helped us to answer a lot of questions that we didn't necessarily think of at the start.
